The moment your algorithm blesses you with these two divas, everything stops.
Maybe it’s the off-the-runway looks. Maybe it’s the completely unnecessary, wildly elaborate coffee recipe. Maybe it’s the way they sliiiide the finished masterpiece toward the camera with that final third straw like they’ve just completed a sacred ritual.
Whatever it is, The Goddess Boys have built one of the most instantly recognizable worlds on TikTok.
Naturally, I had questions.
Who are The Goddess Boys? Where did they come from? How did the Goddess Boys meet? And, because the internet has collectively wondered it, are the Goddess Boys a couple?
Here’s what makes all of this even more fascinating: finding public information about them is surprisingly difficult.
Considering how much of our lives exist online now, I’ve reached two possible conclusions. Either they are exceptionally good at keeping their personal lives private, or they are literal celestial beings who occasionally descend into our 3-D world to make coffee.
I remain open to both possibilities.
But for anyone else who has fallen down the Goddess Boys TikTok rabbit hole, here are 10 Goddess Boys facts I was actually able to find.
1. Their Real Names Are RJ Chumbley and Adrian Patterson
Let’s start with the basics.
The Goddess Boys real names are RJ Chumbley and Adrian Patterson.
They launched their TikTok in April 2020 and eventually evolved into the content we know them for now: turning coffee into high-fashion performance art.
Think extravagant drinks, couture-level styling, immaculate presentation and the energy of two people who could be preparing an iced latte or arriving at the Met Gala. Somehow, both feel equally plausible.
With millions of followers, they’ve essentially created their own content category: Coffee Couture.
If you came here searching for who the Goddess Boys are, that’s probably the simplest introduction. But their story gets much more interesting.

2. Apparently, They’re Just as Lovely in Real Life
This might be my favorite thing I learned.
A few people who say they’ve met RJ and Adrian in person have described them as kind, sincere and genuinely engaging.
I previously made a video breaking down why The Goddess Boys work so well as content creators, particularly how they built a completely original niche by leaning harder into their individuality. In the comments, people who had encountered them in real life shared similarly positive experiences.
And that makes me happy because their content already feels unusually joyful.
Their entire world is theatrical and extravagant, but the underlying energy is warm, inclusive and inviting. Knowing that people seem to experience that same kindness off-camera somehow makes the whole thing better.
3. Both Have Publicly Used He/They Pronouns
In a 2021 TikTok Pride interview, both Adrian Patterson and RJ Chumbley described themselves as feminine and masculine and publicly used he/they pronouns.
They also made an important distinction: gender identity and sexuality shouldn’t automatically be treated as the same thing.
That willingness to play with masculinity, femininity and self-expression has been present in their work for years. Long before Coffee Couture became their signature, fashion and beauty were already central to their creative identity.
4. They Were on BLERR Magazine’s Very First Print Cover
In 2021, The Goddess Boys appeared on the first print cover of BLERR Magazine, an independent queer-POC fashion, art and culture publication founded by Daryl Bland.
BLERR described itself as an androgynous zine centered around individuality, community, self-expression and creatives challenging traditional boundaries.
And this was not some tiny pamphlet someone stapled together in their apartment.
The issue reportedly ran 245 pages, featuring work from more than 100 contributors and dozens of creatives.
The Goddess Boys were selected as cover stars because they represented the publication’s focus on inclusivity, individuality and community building.
Which, considering what their platform eventually became, feels extremely fitting.
5. There’s a Strong San Diego Connection
One question that frequently comes up in searches for Goddess Boys explained is where they’re actually from.
There’s strong public evidence connecting them to San Diego, California.
Adrian Patterson has been publicly listed as being born in San Diego, and some biographies have also connected RJ Chumbley to the area.
There’s another interesting clue: a federal trademark filing for The Goddess Boys from 2024 lists San Diego, and San Diego Magazine included them among its “50 People to Watch in San Diego” for 2026, including discussion of their content filmed at local restaurants.
So while their entire origin story remains elusive, San Diego appears to be an important piece of it.
6. How Old Are They?
RJ Chumbley’s birthday is widely listed as May 16, 1999, which would make him 27 in 2026.
Adrian’s exact age and birthday are much harder to pin down through credible public sources.
Could they be close in age? Probably.
Do I actually know? No.
And frankly, these two operate outside conventional concepts of time anyway. They are ageless divas. I don’t make the rules.
7. Before Coffee, They Were Already Deep Into Makeup and Fashion
The Goddess Boys didn’t suddenly wake up one morning, add three straws to a latte and become style icons.
Their older content included elaborate makeup transformations, coordinated fashion looks, cosplay and character-based videos.
There are also references online to modeling work, which frankly tracks.
Their understanding of clothes, proportion, beauty and presentation feels much deeper than “we bought a cute outfit for TikTok.” They know how to create a silhouette. They know how to work a camera. They know how to make the entire frame feel intentional.
Coffee may have become the vehicle, but the visual language was already there.
8. TikTok Featured Them During Its Global Pride Event
On June 24, 2021, TikTok held its first-ever Global TikTok Pride Finale, a 12-hour live event highlighting LGBTQ+ creators and allies from around the world.
The programming included performances, tutorials, Q&As and creator appearances. Kesha opened the event, and TikTok highlighted creators from its LGBTQ+ Trailblazers list.
Among them: The Goddess Boys.
Interestingly, TikTok introduced RJ and Adrian as creators known specifically for makeup and fashion, another reminder that their public identity existed long before the viral coffee era took over.
9. Are The Goddess Boys Dating?
And now we arrive at the question approximately half the internet appears to be asking:
Are the Goddess Boys a couple?
A June 2026 Mashable profile described them as best friends and said they refer to themselves as “soulmates.”
They’ve also shared posts over the years that some followers interpret as hints of a romantic relationship.
Are they together?
Maybe.
But if RJ Chumbley and Adrian Patterson have intentionally chosen not to define that part of their relationship publicly, I think we can let them have it.
Whatever the label, their connection is clearly deep, and the chemistry between them is a huge part of why the content works.
10. They May Have Known Each Other Since Childhood
This might be the most interesting piece of Goddess Boys lore I found.
A PinkNews video from August 2026 states that the two first met in 2004.
If RJ’s reported 1999 birthday is accurate, that would mean he was around four or five years old.
They’ve also referenced knowing each other roughly 20 years in their own content.
So naturally, my brain immediately starts writing the screenplay.
Did they grow up together? Live near each other? Become childhood best friends? Eventually fall in love? Build an extravagant coffee empire?
I have no idea.
But when people ask how did the Goddess Boys meet, there does seem to be evidence that the answer could go back much further than TikTok.
Somehow, I Have Even More Questions Now
After all this research, I somehow know more about The Goddess Boys while also feeling like I know absolutely nothing about The Goddess Boys.
Which might be part of their magic.
In an era where we know entirely too much about almost everyone online, RJ and Adrian have built a massive, recognizable creative world without giving us access to every piece of their personal lives.
That’s rare.
